If your every wondering how this delicious seafood makes it to the plate come jump onboard the “Pair-A-Dice” in may and june and find out how…. It starts at sun up and usually finishes by noon. You actually become part of the team and are given tasks such as gaffing the buoys, picking the traps, baiting the traps, resetting them and/ or measuring and grading them. The best part of the adventure is when we take them right out of the trap and cook them up on board – doesn’t get any fresher! After retrieving our day’s catch we head in the harbour where we get an understanding of what happens to the lobster before they go to market. All rain gear, gloves, boots and snacks and beverages are provided.  It is truly an authentic way of finding out how the tasty crustaceans make it to the dinner plate!

What a great day with Captain Darren Mackinnon.
My family had a great time. Captain Darren was great, full of local knowledge and wonderful with the kids. The clam digging was loads of fun and the mackerel fishing was exciting. We even saw some porpoises.

“Outstanding value, a gem of a tour!”
We booked our bar clamming tour which included mackerel fishing, pulling up a lobster trap and a crab pot, as well as seeing seals and porpoises. Though i was fairly seasick the entire trip (despite dramamine pre-emptively), i still had a wonderful time with my two kids (11 and 8).

“A great experience!”
It was our first time on PEI, and we chose the bar clamming package as to get a better taste of the island. We had a great experience! The temperature was nice; the oyster, mussels and bar clams were delicious; and the hosts were wonderful! Plus, it was also quite instructive!
We recommend it!!!
